Tango anyone?

Buenos Aires, one of the cities we had been most excited to visit, definitely lived up to our expectationa. With European architecture surrounded by jacarandas in bloom and beautiful people everywhere, it was an easy city to enjoy. We spent our days exploring the city, quietly humming 'Don't cry for me Argentina' to ourselves as we visited highlights like the National Theater, Recoleta Cemetery where Evita is burried, and visiting Cafe Tortoni, the oldest cafe in the city, where we had delicious wine and snuck in a tango show. We were sad to leave, despite the fact that the end of our visit was accompanied by 50 hours straight of rainfall.

The rain followed us into Colonia, Uruguay, a small colonial town with original cobblestone streets, forts, and stunning views. The fact that we loved it here - despite the terrential downpours, leaking rooms, and vicious storms that caused many on our ferry ride to vomit - says it all.

Pictured below: BA in the spring, and ode to Evita, her burial site, enjoying Tango at Cafe Tortoni, Recoleta at dusk, and Colonia in the rain.
